Breaking Through

Abstract art painting

“Breaking Through”
White noise.
Chaos. Chatter.
Deep breath. Slowing. Quiet.
Calm, order, breaking through. I hear.
My voice.

Do you ever have days when you wake up and for some reason you already feel drained? You don’t why, but for whatever reason your “batteries feel low.” The day hasn’t even started and you already feel a bit lethargic. If you have read my previous blogs, you know that I am a huge fan of taking charge of your daily habits. It is exactly on days like this when all of your hard work on building amazing daily habits can be your best ally.

By taking a proactive role on your pre-programming, even on your worst days you will still be able to wake up early, take the trash out, do your meditation, go for a short walk while listening to an audio book, write in your journal, take your vitamins, check your planner and see what you need to do today…all while having no recollection of doing ANY OF THIS because you were “running on autopilot.”

In fact, this was my exact morning today and then, because I have built the habit of always having my journal next to me…I wrote this all down. And for the record…I still don’t really remember my morning.

But the scary truth is that everyone basically runs on autopilot. According to the “experts,” we each spend about 40% of our time every day operating solely on our habits.

I cannot emphasize enough about the importance of taking control of your daily habits like your life depends on it. Because honestly, it probably does. We become what we focus on all day and if you are not designing your day…the outside world will.

Be sure to watch your thoughts during the day. Try and catch yourself when any limiting beliefs pop up, because they will. It happens to us all. What stories are you telling yourself everyday? Our stories have a way of becoming our daily habits. It’s easy to tell yourself a limiting belief which then turns into a habit loop. Make your story the best version of you!

“Change your story, change your life!”
~ Tony Robbins

Remember, you are the captain of your ship. You are the director of your own movie. Create good habits so that even on your worst days you will still be doing great because you are writing your own script.

What can you do on those days when you feel scatter-brained? Try doing this…Sit for a brief moment. Calm your mind and ask yourself, “What is my goal today?” Then just focus on your desired outcome for the day. Anything else is just “noise.” See yourself “Breaking Through” the chatter of nonsense and focusing on the goal.

Ask yourself, “What actions can I take today to brings me towards my goal?”

Then take a step!

Live, to Love Life!
