Spirit Guide

Art relief on building

“Spirit Guide”
My neck.
It starts to tingle.
My breathing…slows.
Suddenly…Heart pounds. I have found

Trusting your intuition takes a lot of daily practice and a ton of patience. And it takes faith. I myself try to practice “trusting” my intuition as often as I can but it is not an easy thing to do. However, the more I do train myself to follow my inner guide, the better I get at it, and the more I rely on it.

I love to take walks in places (in safe areas of course) that I have no clue where I am or where I am going. I have zero idea on what I will discover. I let my intuition be 100% in charge. This is an exhilarating experience if you ever are feeling adventurous. But of course don’t try this in areas that you might get hurt. Stay safe!

I am currently traveling in Taiwan as I write this and Taiwan is truly such a special place where I feel absolutely safe while walking on any street, alley, road, dirt path, or mountain trail. On one particular day I decided to take one of these spiritual adventures. No maps. No GPS and no expectations.

As I walk, I try not to “think to much” but instead I just let “my senses” take over and if I feel like taking a right turn at a street…I take it! I decided to start walking away from the big street and venture off to the back streets. I love the back streets in Taiwan. There is always something great to see just around the corner. “Hmmm…that street seems different from the others for some reason. Let’s go check it out!”

“Oh wow!!! The temple in front of me is extraordinary. The craftsmanship on the outside is simply spectacular and I haven’t even peaked inside.” I actually spent over 20 minutes on the entrance of this temple before I even went inside. And it was amazing!!!

I wanted to share this little adventure with you, so you can get a sense of what I am experiencing on my travels and also to inspire you to discover your own intuition and to practice the art of trusting your inner voice. It’s a life long journey but I believe it’s a path worth exploring.

The temple I stumbled upon is called “Fong Tian Temple” in Taipei, Taiwan. If you go to my instagram – TheArtOfRhoades you can find a lot more photos to see of this magical place. If you ever visit Taiwan I highly recommend visiting this wonderful little jewel that is tucked away near “Mount Elephant”and “Tiger Face,”which is a beautiful physical feature on the local mountain side.

Photo: You’ll find dozens of relief sculptures on the architecture illustrating various Gods and stories. This was just one of the many relief works at this temple. The figure in the center made me feel like this was one of my spirit guides that led me here, helping me charge the way along my journey. I honestly could spend a year looking at all of the artwork and craftsmanship at this place.
